Position: Line-Cook
Department: Food & Beverage
Supervisor: Food & Beverage Director
Estimated Hours per Week: 35-40
Employment Type: PT
Salary: Hourly
Basic Function: Preparation of food for all the outlets at the Resort
Pre-Requisites:
– Excellent people skills
– Motivator
– Good time management skills
– Able to handle multiple tasks at once
Principle Responsibilities:
- Supervising the kitchen staff & ensure that other line cooks follow guidelines in the absence of the executive chef
- Cooking & prepping food using guidelines set forth by the food & beverage director &/or executive chef
- Doing dishes & using various kitchen tools, slicer & food processor
- Ensure that all food functions operate smoothly by directing the wait staff & helping the executive chef direct the cooks
- Controlling kitchen labor & waste by helping with the ordering, directing line cooks & prep personnel
- Should be able to accept questions, reasonable & warranted criticisms & genuine recommendations with an open mind
- Be pleasant, courteous, cooperative & understanding with the public & staff members
- Perform to the best of their ability at the job & assignments given to them & do them in a safe, respectful & timely manner
- Report any & all complaints & grievances to the food & beverage director
- Open & close the kitchen using checklists & guidelines set forth by the food & beverage director &/or executive chef.
